Can I fund my Wall St account via bank transfer?
Yes, you can deposit funds into your Stake Wall St account via bank transfer from an Australian bank account. The minimum funding amount is A$50.
How do I deposit via bank transfer?
- On the Stake app, head to your portfolio dashboard and tap Buying power > Add funds; on web, click on the wallet icon in the right-hand corner > Add funds or Manage funds
- Input the deposit amount
- Select bank transfer and your preferred funding speed
- You'll then be provided with the bank account details to use when making a payment from your financial institution. You must enter the correct BSB, Account Number, Account Name, and Description (your 10-digit Stake Wall St Account number starting with ST) to ensure there is no delay in processing the deposit
- Once you’ve transferred funds from your banking institution to your Stake account, you can confirm by tapping ‘I’ve Made a Transfer’ on Stake to finalise your deposit. You’ll also receive an email confirmation of the initiated transfer.
Things to consider
- Your Stake Wall St account number (beginning with ST) must be included in the ‘Description’ field of your bank transfer. If not, your funds may be returned. It can take up to 30 days for unsuccessful deposits to be returned.
- Some banks have both ‘Description’ and ‘Reference’ fields available – please ensure your 10-digit ST account number is entered in the ‘Description’ field.
Why is my deposit delayed?
Your deposit could be delayed for several reasons:
- You may have not properly entered your 10-digit Stake Wall St account number into the Description field of your bank transfer
- Your bank may have placed a 24-hour hold on your first payment
- You may have mistyped the BSB or Account Number
- There could be a compliance check in-line with Anti-Money Laundering legislation
Can I fund my Stake AUS account via bank transfer?
Yes, you can deposit funds into your Stake AUS account via bank transfer from an Australian bank account. There is a A$50 minimum if you’re depositing funds on Stake AUS and Stake Wall St.
How do I transfer?
- Head to your portfolio dashboard and tap Buying power > Add funds – or if you’re on web, select the Wallet icon > Add funds or Manage funds
- Insert the deposit amount
- Select ‘Bank transfer’
- You’ll then be provided with the bank account details required to make a deposit from your financial institution. It’s vital you enter the correct BSB and Account Number to ensure there is no delay in processing your deposit. The incoming Account Number for Stake AUS deposits is unique to you, so there’s no requirement for a Description or Reference.
- Once you’ve transferred funds from your bank, you can confirm by tapping I’ve Made a Transfer to finalise your deposit.

Things to consider
- Stake does not support third-party deposits. This is in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and applicable Anti-money laundering and Counter Terrorist financing laws. Please ensure that your name on the remitting account precisely matches yours as the Stake account holder.
- Stake does not support BPAY, international wires, in-person branch transfers (i.e. Cash Deposits) or cheque payments.
- To support a transaction made on Stake, you may be asked to provide additional documentation, information or payment receipts. This is to ensure the security of your funds and prevent fraudulent behaviour.

Can I fund my account via card, Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Yes, follow the steps below to deposit via debit/credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The minimum funding amount is A$50.
Credit/debit card
- On the Stake app, head to your portfolio dashboard and tap Buying power > Add funds; on web, click on the wallet icon in the right-hand corner > Add funds or Manage funds
- Input the deposit amount
- Select debit/credit card and your preferred funding speed
- Enter your card details (you can also save these details for future funding)
- Confirm deposit
Apple Pay/Google Pay
- On the Stake app, head to your portfolio dashboard and tap Buying power > Add funds; on web, click on the wallet icon in the right-hand corner > Add funds or Manage funds
- Input the deposit amount
- Select Apple Pay/Google Pay and your preferred funding speed
- Follow the prompts and confirm the deposit
Please note, funds will only be available for withdrawal/transfer after the underlying deposit has been cleared/reconciled in our main facility account. This process generally takes between 1-2 business days.
Processing fees: Credit card deposits incur a 2.5% processing fee. Debit card deposits incur a 0.5% processing fee.
Can I fund Stake AUS and Stake Wall St via PayTo?
Yes, you can deposit funds into your AUD or USD Balances via PayTo from an Australian bank account. PayTo is free to use, but FX fees still apply on Stake Wall St.
Simply select PayTo as your funding method, then follow the instructions to link your bank account. Once this is authorised, you can complete your deposit and make subsequent deposits seamlessly, without entering your banking details again.
Detailed breakdown:
- On the Stake app, head to your dashboard and tap Buying power > Add funds; on web, select the Wallet icon > Add funds or Manage funds
- Insert the desired amount and select ‘PayTo’
- On Wall St, choose a funding speed; if you want to set up a recurring deposit, choose the frequency
- Enter the BSB and account number of the account you wish to link via PayTo
- Authorise the PayTo request from Stake on your banking app or website
- Come back to Stake to confirm the deposit
