Brokerage fees cover the costs/commissions associated with executing a trade on behalf of investors – a process that can include a number of entities, systems and partners besides the broker. As a standard practice across share markets, brokerage fees are often expressed as a percentage of the value of a trade, as a flat fee, or a combination of the two.

BPS stands for basis points, a unit of measurement that defines a percentage change <1% in a financial instrument such as a fee or interest rate. One basis point represents 0.01% of a given instrument or rate. Learn more about FX and BPS fees.
Stake Wall St has a 70 bps FX fee for deposits and withdrawals. So, if the official exchange rate for AUD/USD is 0.75, the resulting rate for a deposit would be 0.743 (0.750 - 0.007). A withdrawal would work inversely with USD/AUD being 0.757 (0.750 + 0.007).
Our only fee per trade is our brokerage fee: $3 brokerage for trades up to $30,000, or 0.01% on trades above $30,000 (in AUD for Stake AUS and USD for Stake Wall St). There's no FX fee per trade, only for Stake Wall St deposits and withdrawals.
Bringing ASX shares to Stake AUS is free of charge. On Stake Wall St, U.S. shares transferred from another broker via ACATS (Automated Customer Account Transfer Service) also won't incur any fees from Stake. U.S. shares transferred in via DTC (Depository Trust Company) or DRS (Direct Registration System) will be charged US$35–55 per position, but this fee is 100% rebated by Stake for transfers over a minimum value. We do not charge any inactivity fees, holding fees or account management fees on your Stake account.
