ASX share certificates
ausDo I receive an ASX share certificate?
When you trade on the ASX, you won’t receive a paper share certificate. Instead, you’ll be issued a CHESS Holding Statement, which confirms the movement of shares to your Holder Identification Number (HIN).
These statements are sent by the share registry at the end of the month whenever you:
Buy or sell a security
Have any change to an existing holding
If multiple securities are affected, you’ll receive individual CHESS Holding Statements for each one.
Want to go paperless?
You can choose to receive CHESS Holding Statements by email instead of post.
To update your preferences:
In the app: Go to Manage > Settings > Trading > ASX letters
On web: Go to Profile > Settings > Trading > Aus registry letters > Select Email
Please note, even when opting in for paperless, there'll always be a limited amount of paper communications sent out for security purposes, such as any change in details.
