Funding delays & mistakes
Why is my Stake AUS deposit delayed?
Your AUD deposit can be delayed for several reasons:
- Your bank could have placed a 24-hour hold on your first deposit to your Stake AUS account.
- Your bank may not support instant payments
- You might have entered the unique BSB and/or account number incorrectly
- There may be external compliance checks in line with Anti-Money Laundering legislation
Why is my Stake Wall St deposit delayed?
Your U.S. deposit could be delayed for several reasons:
- You may have not properly entered your 10-digit Stake Wall St account number into the Description field of your bank transfer (Beginning with 'ST', head to Wall St in app: More > Profile > Account number OR on web, head to Menu > Account > Account details > Account number)
- Your bank may have placed a 24-hour hold on your first deposit to your Stake Wall St account.
- You may have mistyped the BSB or Account Number
- There could be a compliance check, in line with Anti-Money Laundering legislation
Please note that Stake does not support BPAY, international wires, in-person branch transfers (i.e. cash Deposits), cheque payments, or third-party deposits.
What happens if I accidentally enter the wrong details?
If you have used the wrong bank details for a deposit, we advise you to inform your bank and request a reversal.
We recommend saving your Stake bank details in your banking address book to minimise risk.
If you have further questions regarding the deposit, you can get in touch with our support team here.
Why was my PayTo deposit unsuccessful?
Our PayTo functionality is temporarily offline due to a technical issue. You are still able to fund your account using Bank Transfer or Credit or Debit card or ApplePay or Google Pay. Learn more.
Stake will show you the error for failed PayTo deposits and outline what you need to do. PayTo deposits can be unsuccessful for several reasons:
- Insufficient funds in your bank account
- Your bank doesn’t support PayTo payments yet – see here a list of financial institutions that do
- Your bank account was not linked correctly
Once the cause is addressed, you’ll be able to try your deposit again.
