Withdrawal process & timeframes
How do I make a withdrawal from my Stake AUS balance?
You can withdraw your available funds from your Stake account at any time.
Please remember that only settled cash can be withdrawn. This means any unsettled deposits, recent transfers, or money from your sell orders need to clear first. This usually can take 1 to 2 business days.
Steps:
- On the Stake app, head to Manage > Balances > Withdraw – or if you’re on the web, select the Wallet icon > Withdraw > Choose AUD
- Enter the withdrawal amount and select the receiving bank account
- To add a new or different receiving account, select ‘Edit account’ and follow the prompts (please note, the name on the receiving account must match the name of the Stake account owner)
- You’ll receive an estimated summary of your withdrawal request
- Verify the withdrawal with a PIN sent to your mobile number or authenticator app
- Confirm your withdrawal request
Successful withdrawals from your Stake AUS account to your external nominated bank account should typically settle within 1-2 business days.
How do I make a withdrawal from my Stake Wall St balance?
Funds can only be withdrawn to your Australian bank account, which must also be in your name. You'll need to provide your BSB and Account Number before making your first withdrawal.
The processing time for USD withdrawals is typically 2-3 U.S. business days.
Steps:
- On the Stake app, head to Manage > Balances > Withdraw – or if you’re on the web, select the Wallet icon > Withdraw > Choose USD
If you have queries on your withdrawal status after this period, please reach out to the Stake support team here.
Can I withdraw my funds to multiple bank accounts?
For the enhanced security of your funds, you can only have one bank account linked to your Stake account at any given time. This measure helps us maintain a secure and compliant environment for all our customers by minimising potential risks associated with multiple active linked accounts.
While you can only have one active linked account, you do have the flexibility to change it. To link a new bank account, you can delete your current linked bank account, and once it's successfully removed, you'll be able to securely add and verify your new bank account details.
Considerations
To ensure your withdrawal is processed smoothly and securely, please keep the following in mind:
- Double-check that you entered the correct bank account information. Incorrect details can cause delays or even lead to loss of funds, which Stake is not liable for as per our Terms & Conditions.
- If you believe you've made a mistake, please contact the Stake support team immediately.
- All withdrawals must be in Australian Dollars (AUD). We don't support USD withdrawals.
- The name on the bank account you're withdrawing to must match the name on your Stake account. We cannot process withdrawals to third-party accounts.
- For your protection, we have extra security measures for withdrawals. We may contact you or ask for additional information to verify details to ensure the security of your funds and prevent fraudulent or unauthorised behaviour.
- While we provide an estimated timeframe, the exact timing for funds to arrive in your account can vary. It depends on various factors, including banking partners, verification checks, and legal regulations, and is outside of Stake's direct control.
