Where is the USD cash held?
USD is maintained within your U.S. account by DriveWealth, our U.S. broker-dealer partner. DriveWealth is registered with FINRA (U.S. regulator) and a member of SIPC – which protects Stake customers who have U.S. securities for up to US$500,000 (including up to US$250,000 for claims for cash). You can read more about SIPC on their website.
All transfers into your account, trade settlements, dividends and other corporate action-related distributions are in your Stake Wall St account balance until you make a trade, transfer or withdrawal.
How do I make a deposit?
There are many ways to fund your Stake account. Click the links below for more details.
The minimum funding amount for Wall St is NZ$50.
Getting free stock
To claim a starter stock, simply make a first deposit of at least NZ$50 into your Stake Wall St account within 24 hours of opening it. You’ll then be able to claim a Nike, Dropbox or GoPro stock on us – yours will be selected at random. For the 24-hour deadline, what counts is the moment you submit the deposit, not when the funds arrive.
You can learn more about this offer here. This reward is subject to Stake Wall St Rewards Terms and Conditions.

You may be asked to provide additional documentation, information or payment receipts to support a transaction made on Stake. This is to ensure the security of your funds and prevent any fraud attempts on your account.
Stake may implement restrictions on deposits and withdrawals to adhere to relevant regulatory obligations. If you have further questions regarding this policy, you can get in touch with our support team here.
