Outgoing portfolio transfer process
How do I transfer U.S. shares out of Stake?
To get started, contact your receiving broker and submit a share transfer request with them. We support both ACATS and DTC transfers, but the method used will depend on your new broker. If they support ACATS, your transfer will be processed that way.
Once you’ve completed their paperwork, fill out the Outgoing Share Transfer Form and send it to us-sharetransfers@hellostake.com. After we receive the request from your receiving broker, we’ll verify your positions and approve the transfer.
Fees & items to note
Share transfer method
Share transfer out to another broker/transfer agent via ACATS – US$65 per account
Share transfer out to another broker/transfer agent via DTC – US$200 for up to 4 positions, then US$50 per additional position
Share transfer out to another transfer agent via DRS – US$200 per position
Before submitting your request, please make sure you have enough buying power to cover these fees or the transfer will be rejected. Your new broker may also charge an incoming transfer fee, so it’s best to check ahead of time.
Fractional shares can’t be transferred out. You can liquidate any fractional component and then transfer the settled cash via ACATS (cash can’t be moved through DTC).
Your new broker may request the following details:
DTC participant (clearing number): #2402
Account: Your Stake Wall St account
Reference: Add your 10-digit account number after ‘STKE001’ to form your full account number, e.g. STKE001STKE000000

ACATS vs DTC
ACATS (Automated Customer Account Transfer System) is faster and supports the transfer of equities and cash. DTC (Depository Trust Company) is slower, more manual and costlier, and only supports equity transfers.
