How can we help?
Failed portfolio transfers
What could cause a share transfer to fail?
Personal detail discrepancies
For your shares to transfer smoothly, please ensure that you have checked the shares are registered with your external broker in the same name and postal address that exists on your Stake account. Any discrepancies between your outgoing investment platform and Stake accounts will cause the transfer to fail. If you believe this is the issue, please reach out to us to update your Stake account registration.
Joint accounts
Unfortunately, Stake does not currently support incoming transfers from joint accounts. We’re working to cater for these accounts soon. Our U.S. broker DriveWealth and Stake cannot facilitate third-party portfolio transfer requests where there is a change in beneficial owner.
Unit and stock code errors
Submitting the wrong stock codes and units could result in a failed or incomplete transfer. Please ensure you enter everything correctly and double-check that the number of units you’re transferring matches your current shareholdings with your outgoing broker.
Should this be your problem, there’s no need to worry as we can always bring them over in a separate request.
Account number errors
Please ensure that you have entered the applicable broker account number. Submitting incorrect information will result in a mismatch of details and a failed transfer.
