Summary of deposit methods
You can fund your Stake account via:
- Direct bank transfer
- POLi
- Debit card/credit card/Google Pay/Apple Pay

Getting free stock
To claim a starter stock, simply make a first deposit of at least NZ$50 into your Stake account within 24 hours of opening it. You’ll then be able to claim a Nike, Dropbox or GoPro stock on us – yours will be selected at random. For the 24-hour deadline, what counts is the moment you place the transfer, not when the funds arrive.

Things to note
Stake does not support third-party deposits. This is in accordance with our Terms & Conditions and Anti-Money Laundering obligations. Please ensure that the name on the remitting account precisely matches the name on your Stake account.
Stake does not support international wires, in-person branch transfers (i.e. Cash Deposits) or cheque payment methods. Stake doesn't support direct USD funding at this moment in time. All deposits to your Stake account must be initiated in the local currency of the region in which your designated account was set up.
Timeframes
Speed
When you fund your account, you can choose the speed with which you want the funds to arrive:
Speed | Description |
FastFunds | Receive your funds by the next market session (9am EST/EDST) |
Regular | Receive your funds in the second trading session (1pm EST/EDST) |

Things to consider
Processing fees: all debit card deposits (including Google Pay and Apple Pay) incur a 2% processing fee. Credit card deposits (including Google Pay and Apple Pay) incur a 3% processing fee.
Please note, that funds will only be available for withdrawal to your New Zealand bank account after the underlying deposit has been cleared/reconciled in our main facility account. This process generally takes between 1-2 business days.
