Two-factor authentication (2FA)
ausHow do I upgrade to app-based 2FA?
When you open a Stake account, keeping it secure is essential. During sign-up, you’ll be asked to confirm your mobile number so we can send you a verification code when you log in.
For enhanced protection, we recommend upgrading from SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA) to a device authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Authy.
How to set it up
- Download an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy (if you haven’t already)
- Log in to your Stake account
- In the app, go to More > Settings > Security > 2FA Authenticator
- On web, go to Menu > Account > Security > Two-factor authentication
- Copy the 2FA key or scan the QR code in your authenticator app
- Add it as a new account in your authenticator app
- Return to Stake and enter the 6-digit code generated by your app to verify
How do I disable my 2FA?
If you've lost access to the device linked to your 2FA, please get in touch with our team as soon as possible.
In a hurry? You’ll need to chat with us so we can help confirm your account and get you logged back in. Our Stake team members are available on +61 2 8294 6149, Monday to Friday (excluding non-trading days) from 9:30am to 4:30pm AEST/AEDT.
