Broker to broker transfer (B2B) process
To get started:
On the app: head to Manage > Portfolio transfer
On the web: head to Profile > Portfolio transfer
During the transfer process, you’ll select your departing platform and choose whether to move your full portfolio or just specific holdings to Stake.
For AUS holdings
You'll need the following:
Your existing HIN (if applicable)
Departing platform account number
A copy of your Australian or New Zealand driver licence or passport
A portfolio report
The ASX’s Minimum Marketable Parcel (MMP) rule requires an initial purchase of at least $500 per stock. This same rule applies to each individual holding when transferring between platforms.
For a transfer to proceed, each stock must be valued at $500 or more at the time of transfer. If a holding is worth less than $500, it can’t be transferred.
When you submit your request, we’ll review your holdings to ensure they meet the ASX MMP requirement.
For Wall St holdings
You'll need the following:
Departing broker account number
A copy of your Australian or New Zealand driver licence or passport
Portfolio Report
Our U.S. partner doesn’t accept third-party transfer requests. This means we can’t process U.S. portfolio transfers where there’s a change in beneficial ownership – including between family members, spouses or entities (e.g. to a trust).
U.S. stocks typically arrive in your Stake account within two – three weeks from confirmed submission. Timeframes vary depending on how responsive your outgoing platform is. DTC transfers can take up to four – six weeks, while ACATS transfers usually take one – two weeks.
