Stake makes it easy to navigate tax time. It’s simple to gather the information you need about your investments to complete your annual tax return. Our partners can also generate additional reports you may need.

Account-related documents are easily accessible on Stake.  In the app, simply go to More &gt; Tax &amp; documents.  On desktop, click Menu (top right icon) &gt; Tax &amp; documents &gt; Account summary report (located under Tax &amp; documents). Your Account Summary Report contains everything you need to assist you or your accountant/tax agent in determining your tax obligations, including beginning to end-of-period balances, official exchange rates displayed on your transaction log and trade volumes. You can specify the format as either an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) or a PDF. You can also obtain Trade Confirmations and Monthly Account Statements, both conveniently provided in PDF format.  Please note that due to the complexities involved with tax, we recommend you obtain independent and professional advice that takes into account your own set of facts and circumstances.

On Stake, we make tax time as painless as possible. We provide you with the information you need to complete your tax either by yourself or with your accountant/tax adviser. Our partners can also generate reports that you may require.

Our Account summary report features beginning to end-of-period balances, exchange rates displayed on your transaction log, and trade volumes to assist you or your accountant in determining your tax obligations with ease. You can specify the format as either Excel or PDF. You can also obtain Trade Confirmations as well as your Monthly Account Statements, which are provided in PDF format.  Downloadable reports are easily available - more details on this are provided in the section “Tax &amp; Documents" on the mobile app and desktop site.

Stake customers can track their portfolios and run relevant tax reports using Sharesight. This includes completing your CGT, Taxable Income Reports, and calculating your Unrealised Capital Gains. You can find all your recent trade and cash movement history on the Stake platform.  In the Stake app, head to: More &gt; Trade activity or More &gt; Tax &amp; documents &gt; Trade confirmations to access your recent trades. Please note that trade confirmations are based on trading activity for a full market session; if you made multiple trades during a trading session, they’ll appear on the same Trade Confirmation document.  To access financial activity, head to: More &gt; Tax &amp; documents &gt;  Account statements. There you’ll find monthly movement reports.  For a more comprehensive breakdown of account activity, you can request an Account Summary Report by heading to More &gt; Tax &amp; documents &gt; Account summary report. These reports can be sent as a PDF or Excel sheet and contain an overview of your trades, dividend payments, USD deposits, withdrawals, corporate actions and much more.

Activity tracking

Transactional information can be easily accessed and downloaded from Stake through Account Summary Reports. These reports are emailed in PDF or Excel format and cover all of your transactions, orders, and more during your chosen period of time.  You can generate and download the reports of:

A W-8BEN form is a legally required document for the ultimate beneficial owner of listed securities deriving income in the United States to ensure compliance with U.S. tax regulations.  Non-U.S. residents must have a completed W-8BEN form to declare their tax status to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) so that the appropriate level of tax is withheld.  When you sign up and fund your Stake Wall St account for the first time, we digitally complete the W-8BEN (or W9 if you’re a U.S. tax resident) on your behalf and cover the administrative fee (usually US$5). A completed W-8BEN reduces withholding tax on <a href="https://hellostake.com/blog/stake-academy/what-is-a-dividend">dividend distributions</a> from 30% to 15% on U.S.-domiciled holdings. Stake has streamlined this process with our U.S. broker-dealer to ensure your documentation is completed and the appropriate withholding tax is automatically applied to your account.  You can view your current W-8BEN form by heading to: More &gt; Tax &amp; Documents &gt; US tax form.
