Incoming Portfolio Transfers

Broker to broker transfer (B2B) process

To get started, simply:

  • On the app: Head to Manage > Portfolio transfer

  • On the web: Head to your Profile > Portfolio transfer

During the portfolio transfer process, you can choose your departing broker and decide whether to move all or just some of your stocks to Stake.

Please have the following ready:

  • Departing broker account number

  • Copy of your ID

  • A signature

  • Portfolio Report

  • Verification check (New Zealand driver license or passport)

Our U.S. broker partner doesn’t accept third-party transfer requests. That means we can’t process U.S. portfolio transfers where there’s a change in beneficial ownership – including between family members, spouses or entities e.g. to a trust.

U.S. stocks usually land in your Stake account within 2-3 weeks from a confirmed submission. The transfer time varies based on how responsive your outgoing platform is. DTC transfers can take up to 4-6 weeks and ACATS transfers can take up to 1-2 weeks.
