How can we help?

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

How do I upgrade to app-based 2FA?

When you open a Stake account, keeping it secure is essential. During sign-up, you’ll be asked to confirm your mobile number so we can send you a verification code when you log in.

For enhanced protection, we recommend upgrading from SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA) to a device authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Authy.

How to set it up

  1. Log in to the Stake app or web

  2. On the app: Go to More > Settings > Security > Account verification

    • On web: Go to Menu (top right) > Account > Security

  3. Download an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator or Authy)

  4. In the app, add a new account

  5. Scan the QR code or manually enter the 16-digit key provided by Stake

  6. Enter the code generated in your authenticator app back into Stake to confirm setup

How do I disable my 2FA?

If you've lost access to the device linked to your 2FA, please select ‘Still need our help?' below to get in touch with our team as soon as possible.

In a hurry? You’ll need to chat with us so we can help confirm your account and get you logged back in. Our Stake team members are available on +61 2 8294 6149, Monday to Friday (excluding non-trading days) from 9:30am to 4:30pm AEST/AEDT.
