‘First Wall St Trade’ Promotion Terms and Conditions

Overview

The ‘First Wall St Trade’ promotion is run by Stakeshop Pty Ltd (‘Stake’). The promotion provides certain existing Stake customers with a Wall St account with a trading credit voucher to make their first trade on Stake Wall St (the ‘Promotion’). By participating in the Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions as well as the Stake Terms and Conditions. 

Promotion Period

The Promotion will commence on the date you receive an email invitation to participate in the Promotion, and will continue for seven days (inclusive) from that date until 8.30am AEST on the seventh day ('Promotion Period').

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the trading credit voucher on your Wall St Account, you must have an existing Stake Wall St account that has not previously held any funds or securities as at the Promotion commencement date and be invited directly by Stake to participate in the Promotion via email. 

Trading Credit Voucher

If you have been invited directly by Stake to participate in the Promotion, you will receive one of the following trading credit vouchers in your Wall St Account at the Promotion commencement date:

1. Thirteen USD ($13); or

2. Nine USD ($9). 

The trading credit vouchers are valid to be used exclusively on Stake Wall St until the end of the Promotion Period. Trading credit vouchers are not eligible to be withdrawn from your Stake Wall St account. If you attempt to withdraw your trading credit voucher during the Promotion Period, we may terminate your participation in the Promotion. If you have not used any of your trading credit voucher by the end of the Promotion Period, the full value of the trading credit voucher will be forfeited and removed from your Stake Wall St account. This means that orders placed after the end of the Promotion Period will not draw from any forfeited trading credit vouchers.

Trading credit vouchers are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. 

Restrictions

The Promotion is available to Australian customers only. One trading credit voucher per eligible person. Customers cannot set up multiple accounts to claim more than one trading credit voucher.

Implications of Owning Stock

Owning a share in a business comes with fluctuations in price. Share prices fluctuate daily and they can be a volatile asset. You may be liable for capital gains tax on the entire value of shares when they are sold. This is dependent on your personal circumstances and you should seek advice from a tax professional. There may be other applicable taxes to consider. You are responsible for tax consequences, if any, that may result from your redemption or use of the trading credit voucher and shares you purchase with it.

Termination and Changes

Stake may suspend or terminate the Promotion or a user’s ability to participate at any time for any reason without prior notice. We reserve the right to suspend accounts or remove a trading credit voucher if we notice any activity we believe is abusive, contrary to Stake’s brand values, fraudulent or in violation of the Stake Terms & Conditions. We reserve the right to review and investigate activities and to suspend accounts or modify trading credit vouchers in our sole discretion as deemed fair and appropriate.

Severability

If any provision in these terms is held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the part of it that is making it invalid, void or unenforceable) will be struck and not affect the validity of and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Applicable Law

These terms are governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

Updates to the terms

We can update these terms at any time without prior notice. If we modify these terms, we will post the modification on the Stake website and app which are effective upon posting. Continued participation in the Promotion after any modification shall constitute consent to such modification.
