Stake AUS Rewards Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (AUS Rewards T&Cs) apply to the rewards program (Stake Rewards) provided by Stakeshop Pty Ltd (Stake). By participating in Stake Rewards, you agree to be bound by these AUS Rewards T&Cs, which are in addition to the Stake Terms & Conditions.

Stake Users on the Stake AUS platform are able to earn certain rewards as set out in these AUS Rewards T&Cs (a Reward). The types of Rewards are set out below.
Referral Rewards
Stake Rewards allows existing, registered Stake AUS users (Stake User) to earn promotional rewards by referring new customers to Stake AUS (Referral Program).
This section of the AUS Rewards T&Cs specifically concerns Stake Users with an individual account who are doing the referring (Referrers). For the terms that apply to referred persons, see section titled ‘First Funding Rewards’ below.
Eligibility Criteria For Referral Rewards
Referrers with an individual account can earn rewards if a new customer who has not yet created a Stake account (Referred Person):
Enters the Referrer’s unique referral code when signing up to Stake AUS;
Creates a valid Stake account (in the same jurisdiction as the Referrer) that complies with the Stake Terms and Conditions; and
The referred person funds their Stake AUS account directly through the Stake platform using a qualified funding method (Qualified Funding);
(a Referral).
The Referred Person must not be the same person as the Referrer or another existing Stake customer. Referral codes will not be accepted retrospectively.
Qualified Funding
A Qualified Funding is a deposit/funding by the Referred Person of their individual Stake AUS brokerage account inside the Stake product (not outside of Stake). A Qualified Funding must be at least equal to the minimum funding limit as advised within the Stake App or Website.
Earning Referral Rewards
On Stake AUS, the standard brokerage fee is A$3 per trade up to $30,000, or 0.01% per trade at $30,000 or greater. The Stake AUS Referral Program allows Referrers to refer their way to discounted brokerage fees on Stake AUS.
Each time a Referrer makes a successful Referral, they are eligible to receive a $1 discount on their AUS brokerage account for 12 months from the date the Referred Person activates their Stake AUS account.
For example:
Referrer makes a successful Referral of friend #1, who activates their account on 31 January 2022. Referrer receives a $1 discount on Stake AUS brokerage fees for 12 months from 31 January 2022 until 30 January 2023.
Referrer then makes another successful referral of friend #2, who activates their account on 20 February 2022. Referrer receives an additional $1 discount on Stake AUS brokerage fees for 12 months from 20 February 2022 to 19 February 2023. So they will now receive $2 off their brokerage fees per trade.
This Referrer will be eligible for $2 off their brokerage fee on Stake AUS trades until 30 January 2023, when the discounted brokerage they earnt via friend #1 expires. The Referrer still has some time left until the discounted brokerage they earnt via friend #2 expires. So from 31 January 2023 until 19 February 2023 the Referrer will be eligible for $1 off their brokerage fee on Stake AUS trades.
If the Referrer didn’t make any further successful Referrals, the Referrer’s brokerage fees will revert back to $3 per trade up to $30,000, or 0.01% per trade at $30,000 or greater, on 20 February 2023.
Banking Referral Rewards
If a Referrer makes more than 3 successful Referrals in a 12 month period they are able to ‘bank’ up the eligibility for additional $1 discounted brokerage in the future (Additional Referrals). Additional Referrals will entitle the Referrer to a discount of $1 off their brokerage fees on Stake AUS for 12 months from the expiry period of the earliest ending Referral Reward.
There is no cap on the number of Additional Referrals a Referrer may make, however Stake may in its sole discretion choose to limit the number of banked $1 discounted brokerage vouchers a Referrer has stored in their account if it exceeds nine (9) banked $1 discounted brokerage vouchers. If Stake takes such action, it may offer the applicable Referrer with an alternative incentive to be determined in Stake’s sole discretion.
For example:
- Referrer has made 4 successful Referrals over the course of 2022.
- Friend #1 was referred and funds their Stake account on 31 January 2022.
- Friend #2 was referred and funds their Stake account on 31 March 2022.
- Friend #3 was referred and funds their Stake account on 30 April 2022.
- Friend #4 was referred and funds their Stake account on 30 June 2022.
From the date Friends #1, #2 and #3 fund their Stake accounts, the Referrer is eligible for $1 discounts on their Stake AUS brokerage fees. By 30 April 2022, the Referrer has reached $0 brokerage fees for trades up to $30,000.
When Friend #4 funds their Stake account, the Referrer banks an additional $1 discounted brokerage in the Referrer’s Stake AUS account. This Additional Referral will extend the discounted brokerage fee earnt with Friend #1 for an additional 12 months to 30 January 2024.
The Referrer will therefore be eligible to receive $3 off their brokerage fees until 30 March 2023. The Referrer will then be eligible for $2 off their brokerage fees until 29 April 2023. After that, the Referrer will be eligible for $1 off their brokerage fees until 30 January 2024.
Limited Trading Policy
Regardless of the amount of discounted brokerage a Referrer is entitled to, the number of trades that may be made at the discounted brokerage fee is capped at 10 trades per month. After the 10th trade, Stake's standard AUS brokerage fees shall apply i.e. $3 per trade up to $30,000, or 0.01% per trade at $30,000 or greater.
Each month begins from the day of the calendar month that a Referrer activated their Stake account.
For example:
New customer signs up to Stake on 20 March 2022 and creates their Stake AUS account on 23 March 2022 (Referrer). The 23rd of the month is the Referrers activation date.
The Referrer successfully refers a family member to Stake AUS on 21 April 2022. The customer is now eligible to receive $1 off their brokerage fees on Stake AUS trades for 12 months.
Between 23 April and 22 May, the Referrer makes 12 trades. The brokerage fee per trade will be discounted by $1 for the first 10 trades during that period, and the remaining 2 trades will be at the standard $3 brokerage fee per trade up to $30,000 or 0.01% per trade of $30,000 or greater. From 23 May, the Referrer’s trading cap resets and the customer is free to make another 10 trades at the discounted brokerage fee.
Sharing Referral Links
Stake encourages the responsible sharing and distribution of your referral code, but Stake is not responsible or accountable for any adverse action by any third-party or third-party platform where you may share it.
Multiple Referrals
A Referred Person may only use one referral link. If a referred friend receives referral links from multiple Referrers, only the referral link used by the Referred Person to sign up to Stake will count towards a Stake Reward.
Funding Rewards
Stake Rewards allows new Stake AUS users to earn a Reward by signing up to Stake and funding their Stake AUS account (AUS Funding Reward). In some cases, we may offer existing Stake AUS users to earn a Reward for subsequent fundings of their Stake AUS account. If you elect to claim your AUS Funding Reward, you agree to these AUS Rewards Terms and Conditions, which are in addition to the general Stake Terms and Conditions.
The AUS Funding Reward is AUD$10 to be credited by Stake to the Referred Person’s Stake AUS account. The AUS Funding Reward may change from time to time, as communicated by Stake in any applicable promotional material or offer.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to qualify for the AUS Funding Reward, you must meet all of the following criteria:
Have created a registered Stake individual account, including a verified email address, that has been approved for funding by Stake;
Such account has not yet been funded (unless otherwise specified);
Have one individual account only (non-individual accounts such as SMSF trust, SMSF individual, company and minor accounts are not eligible for AUS Funding Rewards); and
For first AUS Funding Rewards, make a single Qualified Funding of your Stake AUS account of at least $50 AUD within 24 hours (or another time limit set by Stake) upon first viewing the Portfolio/Dashboard page on the Stake App or Website. For other AUS Funding Rewards, make a single Qualified Funding of your Stake AUS account within the time limit, and at least equal to the $ amount, specified within the promotion offer.
If you meet the eligibility criteria for the AUS Funding Rewards above, you will be asked to claim your Reward after initiating your funding through the Stake App or Website.
Funding Methods
The payment gateways that are considered a Qualified Funding and earn an AUS Funding Reward are:
Bank transfer
POLi
Apple Pay or Google Pay
Debit or Credit Card
AUD Account Transfer
Restrictions
Customers are not eligible to set up multiple accounts to claim AUS Funding Rewards. Only one claim of an AUS Funding Reward can be made per person per offer.
The AUS Funding Reward must be used on the Stake platform before it can be withdrawn. If the AUS Funding Reward remains unused after twenty four (24) months from the date it was claimed, the AUS Funding Reward will be deemed to have been forfeited.
Portfolio Transfer Rewards
Stake Rewards allows Stake AUS Users to earn a Reward by transferring their existing share portfolios into Stake AUS (Portfolio Transfer Reward). Unless specified otherwise in any promotion offer by Stake, the Reward is discounted brokerage fees on Stake AUS.
Eligibility Criteria For Portfolio Transfer Reward
In order to qualify for a Portfolio Transfer Reward, Stake Users must:
Have an existing, registered Stake AUS individual account;
Have not yet completed a portfolio transfer into Stake AUS; and
Complete a single portfolio transfer of ASX listed securities worth at least A$1000 from a third party provider to Stake AUS;
(a Transfer).
Once the Stake User has met all of the above eligibility criteria and successfully made a Transfer, with the transferred portfolio appearing in the user’s Stake AUS account, then the Stake User will receive $0 brokerage on Stake AUS trades up to $30,000 for 12 months by the end of the week in which your transfer was completed, or other Reward as applicable.
Orders placed prior to successfully making a Transfer and qualifying for the Portfolio Transfer Reward will not be eligible for discounted brokerage. This is the case even if the order does not execute until after the Portfolio Transfer Reward is applied. This is because brokerage is calculated at the time an order is placed rather than when a trade is executed. In order to qualify, a Stake User will need to successfully cancel an existing order prior to execution and resubmit a new order after the Portfolio Transfer Reward is applied.
Limitations
The Portfolio Transfer Reward is only applicable to first time transfers.
The Portfolio Transfer Reward is only applicable to transfers of portfolios of ASX listed securities that have a total value of at least AUD$1000 (unless specified otherwise). The Value of the portfolio shall be determined by the market value at the time of completion of the transfer on Stake AUS. Stake may choose to grant a Portfolio Transfer Reward to portfolios worth less than AUD$1000 in its sole discretion.
Discounted brokerage earned as a Portfolio Transfer Reward is subject to the limited trading policy. That is, regardless of the amount of discounted brokerage a customer is entitled to, the number of trades that may be made at the discounted brokerage fee is capped at 10 trades per month. After the 10th trade, the applicable brokerage fee will be $3 per trade up to $30,000 or 0.01% per trade at $30,000 or greater.
General Terms
Changes to Rewards
The scope, variety and type of services and products that you may obtain by redeeming Stake Rewards can change at any time. Via promotional offers we may offer certain Stake Users or new customers different or additional Rewards that are subject to these Stake AUS Rewards Terms and Conditions. Customers are only eligible to redeem such Rewards where they have been offered to participate directly by Stake. Stake in its sole discretion will determine eligibility for any given Reward. Rewards are non-transferable.
Stake Users are not precluded from earning multiple Stake Rewards under these Stake Aus Rewards Terms and Conditions.
Restrictions
Stake Rewards may not be earned by creating multiple Stake Accounts. Stake Rewards accrued in separate Stake accounts may not be combined into one Stake account. Stake Rewards can only be earned with your “Individual Account” and not a company, trust, SMSF or other type of account.

Stake may require you to submit additional information in order to determine your eligibility. All decisions regarding your status will be final and at Stake’s sole discretion.
You are responsible for any tax consequences, if any, that may result from your redemption or use of Stake Rewards.
Implications of owning stock
Owning a share in a business comes with fluctuations in price. Share prices fluctuate daily and can be a volatile asset. We recommend that you do our own research and consider your own financial needs, objectives and circumstances before making any investment decisions.
Tax Implications
You may be liable for capital gains tax on the entire value of the share when sold. This is dependent on your personal circumstance and you should seek advice from a tax professional. There may be other applicable taxes to consider.
You are responsible for any tax consequences, if any, that may result from your redemption or use of Stake Rewards.
No Affiliation
Stake and its employees are not affiliated with any company or issuer whose stock may be part of Stake Rewards and are not affiliated with any exchange that the stock may be listed or traded on.
Severability
If any provision in these terms are held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the part of it that is making it invalid, void or unenforceable) will be struck and not affect the validity of and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
Termination
Stake may suspend or terminate in whole or part the Stake Rewards program or a user’s ability to participate in Stake Rewards at any time for any reason.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts or remove Rewards if we notice any activity we believe is abusive, contrary to Stake’s brand values, fraudulent or in violation of the Stake Terms & Conditions. We reserve the right to review and investigate all referral activities and to suspend accounts or modify referrals in our sole discretion as deemed fair and appropriate.
In particular, Stake reserves the right to not grant a Reward for the Referral Program and First Funding program where Stake, in its reasonable opinion and sole discretion, believes an account was not established, or a funding was not made, for a proper purpose. A proper purpose includes an account being established with the intention to invest. A proper purpose does not include establishing an account with the sole aim to claim a Reward for the Stake User or someone else.
Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These AUS Rewards Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia and shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the New South Wales Courts.
Updates to the terms
We can update these AUS Rewards T&Cs at any time without prior notice. If we modify these terms, we will post the modification on the Stake website & app which are effective upon posting. Continued participation in Stake Rewards after any modification shall constitute consent to such modification.
