I Synergy Group Limited is a leading affiliate marketing network and solutions provider to advertisers and affiliates throughout Malaysia and Indonesia.

The company has an affiliate marketing platform called VTRAK, which lets advertisers offer commissions to affiliates in exchange for marketing their products and services. VTRAK gathers campaign effectiveness data, providing advertisers with valuable consumer data to improve the performance of future advertising campaigns.

I Synergy's network is made up of more than 40,000 affiliates and 3,000 advertisers. The company was founded in 2008 and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I Synergy earns revenue from contracts with advertisers and affiliates to use its software platform. Revenue is also earned from the provision of training and business support to new customers as well as seminars and events.

No, I Synergy is not profitable. 

Since FY2015, the company’s revenues have been in decline. The company’s revenue arrived at A$8.77m in FY2019 but this dropped to A$8.37m in FY2020. In FY2021 revenue dropped another 77% to A$1.91m due to COVID-19 impacts.

The company has also recorded net losses since FY2017. For FY2019, FY2020 and FY2021 arrived at A$2.16m, A$1.47m and A$1.05m, respectively.

Prior to the end of 2021, I Synergy successfully “raised A$992,010 before costs in an oversubscribed capital raise”.

Is IS3 stock a buy?

On 27 January 2022, I Synergy announced the acquisition of POSTech International, a rewards program platform for merchants and users. 

The news sent IS3 stock price shooting up from A$0.05 to A$0.35 by 1 March 2022 – an astronomical leap of 600%. Then the stock began to drop, even after the completion of the acquisition was announced on 16 March 2022.

By the beginning of May 2022, IS3 stock had declined 75% back to A$0.085. Investor excitement appears to have only been temporary.

Does IS3 stock pay dividends?

In FY2017 and FY2018, I Synergy distributed dividends to shareholders. However, the company discontinued paying dividends in 2019 and has made no further distributions since.

In FY2021, the company cited “poor trading conditions” in Malaysia and Indonesia as a reason to not start paying dividends again.
