SES AI Corporation is a battery manufacturing company. The Company is a developer and manufacturer of high-performance, artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced Lithium-Metal (Li-Metal) and Lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable battery technologies for electric vehicles (EVs), Urban Air Mobility (UAM), drones, robotics, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and other applications. It utilizes AI across the spectrum of its business, from research and development; materials sourcing; cell design; engineering and manufacturing; to battery health and safety monitoring. The Company’s differentiated battery technology is designed to combine the high energy density of Li-Metal with the manufacturability of conventional Li-ion batteries. It produces large 50 Amp-hour (Ah) and 100Ah B-sample Li-Metal battery cells for EVs. Its AI programs fall under three major categories: AI for Science, AI for Manufacturing, and AI for Safety. Its AI for Safety can improve BESS battery health and safety.
