About NHC
National HealthCare Corporation is a provider of senior health care services. The Company operates over 80 skilled facilities for them and third parties with 10,349 beds. Its affiliates also operate over 26 assisted living communities with 1,413 units, nine independent living communities with 778 units, three behavioral health hospitals, 34 homecare agencies, and 30 hospice agencies. It operates specialized care units within certain of its healthcare centers, such as Alzheimer's disease care units and sub-acute nursing units. It also provides insurance services, management and accounting services, and it leases properties to operators of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Its segments include inpatient services, which includes the operation of skilled nursing facilities, assisted and independent living facilities, and behavioral health hospitals, and homecare and hospice services. It operates in eight states and is located primarily in the southeastern United States.
