About EVN
Eaton Vance Municipal Income Trust (the Fund) is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund may purchase and sell derivative instruments which derive their value from another instrument, security or index, including financial futures contracts and related options based on various debt securities and securities indices, as well as interest rates swaps and forward rate contracts, to seek to hedge against changes in interest rates, as a substitute for the purchase of securities or for other risk management purposes. The Fund’s investment objective is to provide current income exempt from regular federal income tax. The Fund invests in hospitals, education, electric utilities, bond bank, cogeneration, housing, industrial development revenue, lease revenue, senior living, special tax revenue, transportation, water and sewer. The Fund's investment advisor is Eaton Vance Management (EVM).
