Privacy Collection Notice for Identity Verification
Background
This Privacy Collection Notice aims to ensure you are aware of certain matters in relation to the collection of your personal information by Stakeshop Pty Ltd (ACN 610 105 505) and its related entities (together, ‘Stake’, ‘we’ or ‘us’) and select service providers when we conduct certain identity verification activities, as required by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in Australia and Privacy Act 2020 in New Zealand (as applicable).
By clicking ‘continue’ on the identity verification request, you consent to Stake and the third parties listed in this Collection Notice collecting and processing your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Collection Notice.
How and why we collect your personal information
We are required by the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 in New Zealand to verify your identity before we can provide you with Stake’s services.
We and our third party service providers, Sumsub and Onfido, will collect and process your personal information, including biometric information, when you use Sumsub’s or Onfido’s identity and liveness verification service via Stake’s app or website.
The types of personal information that we, Onfido and Sumsub will collect and process includes facial image data, biometric data, geolocation data, identity document data, technical data and general personal information (for example your full name, gender, date of birth, nationality and citizenship). This is not an exhaustive list of personal information that may be collected.
We use other third party identity verification services, including Onfido, Refinitiv, Centrix and Equifax NZ to verify your identity via FrankieOne. We collect your personal information via Stake's app or website. The information you provide is sent by Stake to these third party services.
Driver Licence Verification: When you consent to driver licence verification through Centrix or Equifax NZ, your driver licence information is matched against official records held by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). The verification service will confirm whether the information you provided matches official NZTA records. We are required to obtain and retain written evidence of your consent for driver licence verification, which may be made available to NZTA upon their request.
Passport Verification: When verifying your identity using your passport through Centrix or Equifax NZ, your passport information is matched against official records held by the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) in accordance with the Identity Information Confirmation Act 2012. The verification service will confirm whether the information you provided matches official DIA records.
In the case of Equifax NZ, your personal information may be collected, accessed and used by Equifax as your agent to access third party datasets and used in relation to their identity verification services.
The purpose of the collection
Your personal information is collected for the following purposes:
to remotely verify your identity, including by confirming the liveness of your face and to confirm that a given identity document presented by you is legitimately owned by you,
to comply with applicable anti-money laundering and countering terrorism financing laws,
for internal risk management, and
to comply with Stake’s customer due diligence procedures in accordance with the laws governing the intended business relationship with you.

Disclosing your personal information
Your personal information may be disclosed to Sumsub’s associated entities in order for them to achieve the purposes of processing as set out in this Notice and their Privacy Notices.
Stake may also disclose your personal information to its related entities, applicable regulators and government authorities, law enforcement and its applicable third party service providers in order to achieve the purposes of processing as set out in this Notice. Other intermediary service providers involved, including outsourced providers that connect us to the DVS, may receive your personal information.
Sumsub operates in the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore. Onfido operates in the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, India and Singapore. A number of Stake’s key third party suppliers have operations outside of Australia. As a result, your personal information will be disclosed to overseas recipients.
What happens if we don’t collect your personal information?
Providing your personal information as set out in this Notice is voluntary. However, without it Stake may not be able to satisfactorily verify your identity or process your request, or your request may be significantly delayed.
