Top 10 U.S. data centre stocks to watch in 2026

Cloud providers and large enterprises decide how much computing infrastructure to buy, build or lease. Those budgets determine how much capacity gets deployed and how many chips get sold.
Data centres are the buildings housing the servers, storage and networking equipment that power cloud computing and AI workloads. The ten companies in this list approach that infrastructure from a few directions: technology companies designing the chips and software that run inside them or running the cloud platforms and facilities that use them, real estate investment trusts (REITs) that own and operate the physical facilities, and Vertiv Holdings ($VRT), an industrial supplier of power and cooling systems.
How we built this list: We selected these companies based on their industry and ordered them by market capitalisation. Prices are updated daily, and the list and supporting content are reviewed roughly every quarter. All data is sourced from Stake. This list isn't a recommendation and isn't ordered by suitability.

Common questions
How do I invest in U.S. data centre stocks in New Zealand?
Every company in this list trades on a U.S. exchange, so you'd access them through a share trading platform that offers U.S. market access. You search by ticker, place an order in USD, and the shares settle in your brokerage account. Some platforms also allow fractional share purchases, where you buy a dollar amount rather than a whole share.
What are the key risks of U.S. data centre stocks?
Some of the key risks include technology shifts that can make existing hardware or facilities less relevant, the capital intensity of building and maintaining data centre infrastructure, and changes in large enterprise or cloud customers' spending plans. The REITs in this list carry additional interest rate sensitivity, as they are real estate businesses funded partly by debt. NZD/USD exchange rate movements affect both what you pay to buy these stocks and what any sale proceeds are worth in New Zealand dollars.
What types of businesses appear in a data centre stocks list?
The companies here sit across three sectors, each connected to data centre infrastructure in a different way. Some technology companies design the chips or run the cloud platforms that operate within data centres; others develop and operate data centre facilities directly. The four REITs own and lease physical facilities, generating income from the businesses that house servers there. Vertiv occupies a different position – it makes the power management and cooling equipment that data centres depend on to function.
