Its segments include Insurance, Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF), Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE), Manufacturing, Service and retailing, McLane Company (McLane), and Pilot Travel Centers (Pilot). Insurance segment includes GEICO, Berkshire Hathaway Primary Group, and Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance Group. BNSF segment is an operator of freight rail transportation systems. BHE segment offers regulated electric and gas utilities and real estate brokerage activities. Manufacturing segment manufactures and distributes industrial, consumer and building products. Service and retailing segment includes aviation pilot training and electronic components distribution. McLane segment includes wholesale distribution of food and non-food items. Pilot segment is an operator of retail travel centers.
