Top 8 ARK ETFs to watch in 2026

By Stake Desk10 min read

ARK runs six of these funds actively, with its team picking the holdings directly. Two follow published indices instead, with holdings set by index rules rather than ARK's analysts.

ARK Investment Management structures each of its funds around a single disruptive innovation theme, holding equities in companies working in areas like genomics, autonomous technology, blockchain and space. Six of the eight funds on this list are actively managed, with ARK's team picking the holdings directly; the ARK Israel Innovative Technology ETF ($IZRL) and the 3D Printing ETF ($PRNT) are instead designed to track published indices.

How we built this list: We selected these funds based on their industry or investment category and ordered them by assets under management. Prices are updated daily, and the list and supporting content are reviewed roughly every quarter. All data is sourced from Stake. This list isn't a recommendation and isn't ordered by suitability.

ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) share price over the last year: started at US$86.17, ended at US$89.45, a change of +3.8%. Range over the period: high US$92.53, low US$63.52. Source: Stake market data. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Price: US$89.45 · Daily: 0.2% · AUM: US$7.94B · MER: 0.75%

Disruptive innovation is a broad mandate, and the ARK Innovation ETF ($ARKK) pursues it across both domestic and foreign markets. ARK's team selects the holdings directly, rather than following a published index. The portfolio concentrates on equity securities of companies that ARK considers relevant to that theme. Under normal circumstances, at least 65% of assets sit in those qualifying equities.

The fund's stated objective is long-term growth of capital. Because the composition isn't determined by an index, ARK's analysts can adjust holdings as their views on specific companies shift.

2. ARK Genomic Revolution ETF ($ARKG)

ARK Genomic Revolution ETF (ARKG) 1-year price chart, up 97.8% (US$27.27 to US$53.95).

ARK Genomic Revolution ETF (ARKG) share price over the last year: started at US$27.27, ended at US$53.95, a change of +97.8%. Range over the period: high US$53.95, low US$24.82. Source: Stake market data. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Price: US$53.95 · Daily: 1.1% · AUM: US$2.21B · MER: 0.75%

The ARK Genomic Revolution ETF ($ARKG) targets companies advancing genomic science, with holdings spread across healthcare, information technology, materials, energy and consumer discretionary sectors. That breadth reflects how genomic technology extends well beyond traditional healthcare applications.

ARK's team actively selects which equities $ARKG holds, rather than following a published index. Both domestic and foreign companies are in scope. The fund's stated objective is long-term capital growth. Active management in a thematic area like this can mean the portfolio shifts meaningfully from period to period, and price swings can be significant in strategies built around fast-moving science.

3. ARK Next Generation Technology ETF ($ARKW)

ARK Next Generation Technology ETF (ARKW) 1-year price chart, down 7.8% (US$174.76 to US$161.10).

ARK Next Generation Technology ETF (ARKW) share price over the last year: started at US$174.76, ended at US$161.10, a change of −7.8%. Range over the period: high US$182.20, low US$114.45. Source: Stake market data. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Price: US$161.10 · Daily: 0.3% · AUM: US$2.04B · MER: 0.75%

The ARK Next Generation Technology ETF ($ARKW) is an actively managed fund that targets companies ARK's team views as reshaping how the internet works – think cloud infrastructure, digital commerce, blockchain applications and artificial intelligence platforms. The fund invests in both domestic and foreign equities, concentrating in companies whose primary business sits in internet-related services and information delivery.

Because $ARKW is actively managed, its holdings reflect ARK's own conviction calls rather than a fixed index, meaning the portfolio can shift as the team updates its view on which companies are driving the next wave of internet adoption. That concentration in a single theme – next-generation internet – means the fund's performance can diverge sharply from broader market moves, in either direction.

4. ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF ($ARKQ)

ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ) 1-year price chart, up 9.7% (US$110.48 to US$121.22).

ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ) share price over the last year: started at US$110.48, ended at US$121.22, a change of +9.7%. Range over the period: high US$143.82, low US$101.26. Source: Stake market data. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Price: US$121.22 · Daily: -0.5% · AUM: US$1.89B · MER: 0.75%

The ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF ($ARKQ) is actively managed, with ARK's investment team selecting the holdings rather than tracking a fixed index. The fund concentrates on companies connected to industrial innovation, drawing from the industrials and information technology sectors across both domestic and foreign equity markets.

Autonomy and robotics are the organising ideas. $ARKQ targets companies working on the technologies that sit behind those themes – think the hardware, software and systems driving changes in how things get built and moved.

Price: US$46.00 · Daily: 0.07% · AUM: US$838.7M · MER: 0.75%

The portfolio is designed to keep at least 80% of its assets in domestic and foreign equities tied to these two themes. Because the managers pick stocks directly, the composition can shift as ARK's assessment of the sector changes.

6. ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF ($ARKX)

ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF (ARKX) 1-year price chart, up 13.4% (US$28.14 to US$31.92).

Price: US$31.92 · Daily: -0.5% · AUM: US$737.0M · MER: 0.74%

The ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF ($ARKX) is an actively managed fund that aims to put at least 80% of its assets into equities of companies working in space and defence innovation. ARK's portfolio managers pick the holdings directly, drawing from both domestic and foreign markets rather than tracking a published index. The fund's stated goal is long-term capital growth through that concentrated theme.

7. ARK Israel Innovative Technology ETF ($IZRL)

ARK Israel Innovative Technology ETF (IZRL) 1-year price chart, down 3.4% (US$29.18 to US$28.18).

ARK Israel Innovative Technology ETF (IZRL) share price over the last year: started at US$29.18, ended at US$28.18, a change of −3.4%. Range over the period: high US$32.72, low US$26.12. Source: Stake market data. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Price: US$28.18 · Daily: 0.07% · AUM: US$132.1M · MER: 0.49%

The ARK Israel Innovative Technology ETF ($IZRL) aims to closely follow the ARK Israeli Innovation Index. That index tracks exchange-listed Israeli companies innovating in areas like genomics, biotechnology, health care, internet and information technology, and industrial manufacturing.

$IZRL is an index-tracking fund, so ARK's role sits at the index design level rather than in day-to-day stock selection. Holdings change as companies enter or leave the index, not as a portfolio manager updates their view. That makes its construction meaningfully different from most of the other ARK funds in this article, where an active team picks and rotates positions directly.

8. 3D Printing ETF ($PRNT)

3D Printing ETF (PRNT) 1-year price chart, up 6.6% (US$23.32 to US$24.87).

3D Printing ETF (PRNT) share price over the last year: started at US$23.32, ended at US$24.87, a change of +6.6%. Range over the period: high US$26.44, low US$19.85. Source: Stake market data. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Price: US$24.87 · Daily: -0.5% · AUM: US$60.9M · MER: 0.66%

Tracking the Total 3D-Printing Index, the 3D Printing ETF ($PRNT) is built around companies working in the 3D printing industry. The fund normally holds at least 80% of its assets in index securities, aiming to mirror the index's performance closely.

Most of the funds on this list are actively managed by ARK's team. $PRNT works differently – it follows a rules-based index, so the portfolio changes when the index changes rather than when ARK's analysts make a call. The ARK Israel Innovative Technology ETF ($IZRL) is the only other fund on this list constructed the same way.

Common questions

How do I invest in ARK ETFs in New Zealand?

All eight funds in this list trade on U.S. exchanges, so NZ investors access them through a share trading platform that supports U.S. markets. You search by ticker – $ARKK, $ARKG, $ARKW and so on – and place an order during U.S. market hours. Availability of features like limit orders or fractional shares depends on the platform you use.

What are the key risks of ARK ETFs?

Some of the key risks include concentration in high-growth or early-stage companies, which can make these funds more volatile than a broad market index. Because all eight funds trade in USD and hold primarily USD-denominated assets, movements between the NZD and USD affect what purchases cost and what any proceeds are worth. The six actively managed funds carry manager risk – their performance depends heavily on ARK's stock-selection decisions. Each fund also concentrates on a narrow theme, so a downturn in that specific area of the market can have an outsized impact.

How do ARK's actively managed funds differ from the index-tracking ones?

Six funds in this list – $ARKK, $ARKG, $ARKW, $ARKQ, $ARKF and $ARKX – are actively managed, meaning ARK's team selects holdings based on their own research and conviction about disruptive innovation themes. $IZRL and $PRNT each aim to track an index instead, so their holdings are determined by index rules rather than active stock-picking. $IZRL tracks Israeli technology and innovation companies; $PRNT follows companies involved in 3D printing. $IZRL's management expense ratio is 0.49% – the lowest in this list – compared to 0.75% for each of the six actively managed funds.
