New portfolio analytics and real-time market insights tools respond to rising demand for transparency and informed decision-making
Sydney, Australia, 23 April 2026 – Investing platform Stake has introduced two new in-app features, the Performance Chart and Why It’s Moving, designed to give investors clearer visibility over their portfolio performance, and deeper context behind major U.S. stock price movements.
See the bigger picture with the Performance Chart
The Performance Chart provides investors with an interactive view of their portfolio performance across Australian and U.S. markets, helping them understand how their investments are tracking over time.
Unlike traditional portfolio snapshots that show only current positions, the Performance Chart factors in both current and sold holdings, enabling investors to view their full investing history across multiple time periods.
With the new feature, investors can:
Track overall portfolio performance across custom date ranges to understand short- and long-term trends
View returns inclusive of current and closed positions, giving a complete picture of their investing journey
Interact with dynamic charts using pinch-and-scrub functionality to explore performance across specific moments in time
See performance updates in near real time while markets are open, helping investors stay informed during trading hours
By delivering a historical and holistic view, the feature helps investors move beyond day-to-day volatility, assess progress against longer-term strategies and better understand how their portfolio has evolved over time.
Bryan Wilmot, Chief Customer Officer at Stake says, “One of the most requested features from our active investors has been better performance visibility, so this is the first in a suite of portfolio analysis tools on the roadmap. Investing is a journey, not just a daily snapshot. The performance chart is designed to give each customer a clearer understanding of how they’re tracking over time, helping them evaluate decisions with more confidence and context, and reduce noise-driven reactions to short term swings.”
Introducing ‘Why It’s Moving’: real time context for market moves
Why It’s Moving is a new insights feature that provides real-time summaries, written by journalists, explaining significant U.S. stock price movements, helping investors quickly understand what may be driving volatility.
Available directly on U.S. stock pages and delivered through notifications, the feature surfaces curated news-driven insights when a stock experiences notable volatility, helping investors quickly identify potential catalysts behind price moves.
Wilmot adds, “With more content available than ever, investors don’t just need information, they need relevant information delivered in context. Why It’s Moving does some of the heavy lifting by surfacing timely summaries in-app, combining trusted third-party news sources with human curation. This reflects how investors naturally seek information, but brings it together in one place rather than requiring them to search across multiple sources.”
The dual launch reflects broader shifts in retail investor behaviour, where access to global markets is increasingly paired with expectations of transparency, data access and contextual insight.
By combining historical portfolio visibility with real-time market explanations, Stake aims to support more informed, self-directed investing.
The Performance Chart is rolling out progressively to customers updating to the latest version of the Stake app. Why It’s Moving is now live across supported U.S. stock pages.
