What I'm Trading - Aboud

An engineering student with an eye for oil stocks, Aboud’s portfolio is looking to capitalise on higher energy prices.

Occupation: Engineering Student

Industry: Aerospace

Age: 21

Location: South Australia, Australia

Hobbies/Interesting Fact About You: Finance and Innovation

What was your first investment on Stake?

My first investment on Stake was BHP Group (BHP).

In one sentence, define your investing style.

In it for the money, long term.

What’s in your Stake portfolio right now?

Tellurian (TELL), Devon Energy (DVN), Northern Oil & Gas (NOG), Arrival (ARVL) and Cheniere Energy (LNG).

How are your returns so far?

Recently down, but happy with the progress of the companies and looking into long term returns.

Any other investments that are not on Stake?

Small business investments.

What are you watching? Why?

Currently watching over a few crude oil companies as the energy reserves are tightening and a few big players such DVN and LNG will be able to capitalise on higher energy prices. We are seeing these effects directly as we observe higher fuel prices. I am also interested in Aerospace/Aeronautical stocks as my studies are focused on such technologies, for example ‘SPCE’ Virgin Galactic Holding and ‘RTX’ Raytheon Technologies.

Do you have a trading or investing role model?

My grandfather.

What’s a piece of advice you’d give a newbie?

Do extensive research on a company before investing, don’t let charts be an indicator.

What’s one mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?

Buying into companies when they are at ATH rather than waiting for a pullback.

If you were to buy a US stock or ETF right now, what would you buy? Why?

TELL, because the team and the project they are working on will be supplying LNG upwards of 18mmtp plus they have a team of LNG veterans.

Why are you in the market?

To make a sizeable portfolio to assist with future startup and product development.

ICYMI: make your own decisions

This is not investment advice, just my opinion. It doesn’t reflect any opinions of Stake. I’m as fresh to this as the next person off the street. Do your own research and make your own decisions.
