Lower FX fee for NZ customers

Stake gives Kiwi investors easy access to the multi-trillion-dollar U.S. market. Now we’re breaking yet another barrier with a reduced FX fee of 0.3%.
Down from 1%, the new FX fee means you keep more of your money every time you deposit to or withdraw from your USD balance. We know lower fees help to make things effortless.
To make a deposit at the new rate, simply select ‘Add funds’ from your dashboard.
When does the FX fee drop from 1% to 0.3%?
From 21 October 2026, the FX fee on deposits and withdrawals drops from 1% (US$2 minimum) to 0.3%, with no minimum. You’ll see the new fee in Stake Wall St before you confirm a deposit or withdrawal.
Is the FX fee charged per trade?
No. The FX fee only applies when your money is converted between NZD and USD, which happens when you deposit or withdraw. There’s no FX fee on individual trades.
Are there any changes to Stake’s brokerage fees?
No. Brokerage stays at US$3 per trade up to US$30K, or 0.01% for trades of US$30K or more.
