Markets with Madison Competition Terms and Conditions

Overview

These Terms and Conditions apply to the competition on the Markets with Madison show on 28 July 2023, sponsored by Stake (the Competition). By participating in the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Competition terms and conditions, in addition to Stake's general Terms and Conditions.

Promoter

The Promoters of the Competition are Stakeshop Pty Ltd (NZBN: 9429047452152) (Stake) and NZME Holdings Ltd (NZBN: 9429040750064).

Promotion Period

The Competition commences on 28 July 2023 and ends at 11:59pm on 31 July 2023.

Eligibility

Entrants must be over 18 years of age and a resident of New Zealand at the time of entry. Only one (1) entry per person is allowed. If you win the Competition, you must have a Stake account to redeem the prize.

How to Enter

To enter the Competition, during the Promotion Period you must name a stock that you would buy and hold for 28 years by either:

1. emailing Markets with Madison at madison.reidy@nzme.co.nz; or 

2. commenting on the Markets with Madison Instagram or TikTok videos posted on 28 July 2023 promoting the Competition.

Winner Selection & Notification

The winners will be selected by Madison based on which entrants provide the best answer, in Madison’s sole opinion, to the question: "What's one stock you would hold for 28 years?".

The Markets by Madison team will identify the winners and contact them directly by email to notify them that they have won and explain how to claim the prize. Selection of the winners is final and not subject to review.

The Prize

The prize is a USD$50 credit to be applied to the winners’ Stake account (Prize). There are ten (10)prizes to be won, worth a total value of USD$500. Six (6) winners will be selected from entrants that email Markets with Madison, two (2) winners will be selected from Instagram and two (2) winners will be selected from TikTok. 

The winners must provide their Stake account number to allow Stake to allocate the Prize to the correct Stake account. The Prize will be allocated to the winners’ Stake accounts within one (1) week from the date they provide their correct Stake account number.

Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. See Stake's pricing page for more information about fees when using Stake.

Limitation of Liability

Stake will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage, whether or not arising from any person's negligence or wilful misconduct, in connection with this Competition or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability which cannot be lawfully excluded (in which case that liability is limited to the extent legally permissible).

No Advice and Implications of Owning Stock

This Competition does not constitute financial advice nor a recommendation to invest in certain financial products. Owning a share in a company comes with fluctuations in price and shares can be volatile assets. We recommend that you do your own research and consider your own financial needs, objectives and circumstances before making any investment decisions or using the Prize.

No Affiliation

By participating in this Competition you agree to release Instagram and TikTok from any and all claims in connection with the Competition. You acknowledge and agree that the Competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or TikTok.

General

The Promoters may suspend or terminate the Competition or a user’s ability to participate in the Competition at any time for any reason. The scope, variety and type of prizes that you may win may also be changed. Stake reserves the right to review and investigate activities related to the Competition and to suspend accounts or modify prizes at our sole discretion as deemed fair and appropriate.

If any provision in these terms are held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the part of it that is making it invalid, void or unenforceable) will be struck and not affect the validity of and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

These Competition terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.

We can update these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. If we modify these terms, we will post the modification on the Stake website, which are effective on posting. Continued participation in the Competition after any modification shall constitute consent to such modification.
