How can we help?

Security of funds

Where is the AUD cash held?

When you sign up to Stake AUS, a digital Airwallex account is opened with Airwallex. Click here to learn more about the Airwallex Wallet Terms & Conditions. Airwallex services are accessible through the Stake platform, including Services to add funds and top up funds and receive proceeds and payments from Stake, and Payout Services to pay out funds from the account to a linked bank account.

Funds that you add to your Airwallex Account are paid initially into an account held by Airwallex with an Australian bank (also known as an authorised deposit-taking institution or ‘ADI’) and are protected by a bank guarantee in favour of you. Please note that Airwallex is not itself an ADI and it is not covered under the Australian Government’s Financial Claims Scheme. We facilitate the transfer of funds held in the Airwallex account at least once a day to client monies account with a Big Four Australian bank, held on trust for you.

Where is the USD cash held?

USD is maintained within your U.S. account by DriveWealth, our U.S. broker-dealer partner. DriveWealth is registered with FINRA (U.S. regulator) and a member of SIPC – which protects Stake customers who have U.S. securities for up to US$500,000 (including up to US$250,000 for claims for cash). You can read more about SIPC on their website.

All transfers into your account, trade settlements, dividends and other corporate action-related distributions in your Stake Wall St account balance until you make a trade, transfer or withdrawal.

How do I make a deposit?

There are many ways to fund your Stake account. Click the links below for more details.

The minimum funding amount for Wall St is A$50. This includes AUD to USD transfers between Stake accounts.

Getting free stock

To claim a starter stock, simply make a first deposit of at least A$50 into your Stake Wall St account within 24 hours of opening it. You’ll then be able to claim a Nike, Dropbox or GoPro stock on us – yours will be selected at random. For the 24-hour deadline, what counts is the moment you submit the deposit, not when the funds arrive.

You can learn more about this offer here. This reward is subject to Stake Wall St Rewards Terms and Conditions.

Things to note

Stake does not support third-party deposits. This is in accordance with our Terms & Conditions and applicable Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing laws. Please ensure that the name on the remitting account precisely matches the name on your Stake account.

Stake does not support BPAY, international wires, in-person branch transfers (i.e. Cash Deposits) or cheque payment methods.

Your bank may hold payments to new payees for up to 24 hours for security purposes – please check with your bank for more info.

You may be asked to provide additional documentation, information or payment receipts to support a transaction made on Stake. This is to ensure the security of your funds and prevent any fraud attempts on your account.

Stake may implement restrictions on deposits and withdrawals to adhere to relevant regulatory obligations. If you have further questions regarding this policy, you can get in touch with our support team here.
